Friday
Today I want you to research opportunities for live networking in your local area. Find the available Le Tip, Rotary, Kiwinas, and Lions, Toastmasters, or Chamber of Commerce groups and ink one into your schedule.  When you are there, practice everything we talked about in the call on Wednesday – active listening, using their name, asking questions, giving valuable ideas/feedback when it makes sense. Go to the event and imagine what it will be like to do a short, punchy, and valuable speech to this group.  It’s remarkable practice for bigger events when your live networking skills need to be sharp. Additionally, these meetings can open up local opportunities never before imagined.  Remember that a “Networked person never has any problem getting things done”!

Saturday
Spend at least 30-minutes on this one. The first 10-15 should be on www.Kickstarter.com.  I want you to look at all the niche ideas/projects/movements that people are putting their passion on the line to create. The next 15-20 (or more if you are having a blast and on the verge of changing the world) is to make a list of ideas where you could use your skills to educate children, teach magic in an African village, perform your show at foster homes across America, speak on creativity to teachers – or any other passion that might be funded by random supporters who want to stand behind you and scream “GO GO GO!”.

The purpose of this exercise is to open your mind to a bigger picture than the one you are currently seeing.  Not that it has to play out as you write it – simply to stretch the capacity for your mind to know that there is always other opportunities.  This can be really fun – I do this a few times a year in a mastermind group and some of the stuff that has come out of my mouth/hands has led to fascinating adventures.

If you took one step on your discovery from yesterday, what would it be?  Please post your ‘crazy dream’ and one step you could take to move it forward.  I’m not asking you to do it now (I know we are plenty busy) – just post it on our group.  And – for a ton of extra credit to go on your permanent record, you can take that first step right now!
